Job Description
Multiplex is seeking reliable and motivated Construction Labourers for casual day shifts on various projects within the Geraldton region of Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a current Australian Construction Induction Card (White Card) to gain valuable on-site experience and contribute to significant construction ventures. We are looking for individuals who are physically fit, possess a strong work ethic, and are committed to maintaining a safe working environment. Full training and site inductions will be provided, making this an ideal role for those looking to kickstart or continue their career in construction with a reputable industry leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespersons with various tasks on-site, including but not limited to, moving materials, preparing work areas, and general support.
- Perform general site cleanup and maintenance duties to ensure a safe and organised work environment.
- Safely load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment around the construction site as directed.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Follow all site safety procedures, protocols, and instructions diligently to prevent accidents and ensure compliance.
- Maintain a tidy and organised work area, including waste removal and segregation.
- Support the efficient flow of work and contribute positively to the team environment and site morale.
- Report any potential hazards or incidents to site management promptly.
Required Skills
- Current Australian Construction Induction Card (White Card) is mandatory.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices and procedures.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions effectively and work as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills to interact with supervisors and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience on a construction site (even minimal experience is highly valued).
- First Aid certification is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of construction terminology and practices.
- Forklift license (LF) or other relevant plant operator tickets would be a bonus.
