Job Description
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Retail Security Guard to join our team in Croydon. As a key member of our store operations, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, preventing loss, and ensuring the safety of our customers and employees. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to upholding our high standards of safety and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV cameras and other security systems to detect and prevent theft and suspicious activity.
- Conduct regular patrols of the store premises, including sales floors, stock rooms, and external areas.
- Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms in a timely and effective manner.
- Deter and apprehend individuals involved in shoplifting or other criminal activities, following company policies and legal guidelines.
- Provide a visible security presence to deter potential offenders and reassure customers and staff.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, ensuring the security of the building.
- Report all incidents, suspicious activities, and security breaches accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with store management and local law enforcement when necessary.
- Help maintain order and address disruptive behaviour within the store.
- Provide first aid assistance when required (training provided if necessary).
Required Skills
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding License.
- Excellent observation and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures and protocols.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail security or similar public-facing security role.
- First Aid qualification.
- Customer service experience.
- Knowledge of loss prevention strategies.
