Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot to join our growing engineering team. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance microservices and APIs that form the backbone of our innovative products. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, front-end developers, and other engineers to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues, providing timely resolutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools.
- Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Java.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot framework.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate).
- Experience with version control systems, especially Git.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of unit testing and integration testing frameworks.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Prior experience in the energy or utilities sector.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
