Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Workplace Relations Advisor to join our growing team in Warrnambool. This role is pivotal in providing expert advice and support to our clients on a wide range of employment and industrial relations matters. You will be responsible for assisting businesses and individuals navigate complex workplace laws, ensuring compliance, and resolving disputes. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal acumen, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for workplace law. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice to clients on employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
- Assist clients with industrial relations issues, including enterprise bargaining and union negotiations.
- Advise on unfair dismissal, general protections, discrimination, and harassment claims.
- Draft and review employment-related legal documents, including workplace agreements and termination letters.
- Conduct workplace investigations and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Represent clients in conciliations and mediations before industrial tribunals (e.g., Fair Work Commission).
- Stay abreast of changes in employment legislation and case law to provide up-to-date advice.
- Deliver training and presentations to clients on workplace relations best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- Minimum of 2 years post-admission experience in employment law or workplace relations.
- Strong understanding of the Fair Work Act 2009 and related legislation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple client matters simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Admission to practice as a legal practitioner in an Australian jurisdiction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a regional legal practice.
- Postgraduate qualification in Industrial Relations or Employment Law.
