Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Transcriptionist to join our 100% remote team. This is a full-time Work From Home opportunity for a professional dedicated to delivering exceptional accuracy in medical documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for transcribing dictated medical reports, ensuring strict adherence to medical terminology, grammar, and client-specific guidelines. This role is critical in supporting healthcare providers and requires a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of medical contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe dictated medical reports from various specialties (e.g., cardiology, oncology, radiology) with high accuracy and efficiency.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and clarity.
- Ensure all transcribed reports comply with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA equivalent in Australia) and client-specific formatting guidelines.
- Manage workload to meet established turnaround times and deadlines.
- Utilize transcription software and reference materials effectively.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and data security at all times.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure consistent high standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical transcription.
- Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmaceutical terms.
- Exceptional listening skills and ability to discern various accents and dictation styles.
- High typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 WPM).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Familiarity with medical transcription software and digital dictation platforms.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a secure, private home office setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in medical transcription.
- Experience with Australian medical reporting standards and terminology.
- Proficiency with specific transcription platforms such as FTR Gold, Emdat, or similar.
- Ability to transcribe complex or highly specialized medical reports.
