Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Bin Collector and play a vital role in keeping the Gold Coast clean and green. This full-time position offers the unique benefit of early morning starts, allowing you to finish your workday by early afternoon and enjoy the rest of your day. You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of residential and commercial waste, operating modern waste collection vehicles, and adhering to strict safety and environmental standards. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided to successful candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to public service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy rigid (HR) or medium rigid (MR) vehicles for waste collection on designated routes.
- Safely collect and empty bins according to scheduled routes and council guidelines.
- Perform pre-start checks and minor maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and traffic regulations.
- Report any issues, hazards, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and vehicle.
- Engage professionally with the public when necessary.
Required Skills
- Valid Australian HR (Heavy Rigid) or MR (Medium Rigid) driver's license (or willingness to obtain with support).
- Ability to work early morning shifts.
- Physically fit and capable of repetitive tasks and heavy lifting.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong commitment to attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating heavy vehicles or in waste management.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of Gold Coast road networks and local areas.
- First Aid certification.
