Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Wedding Venue Setup Assistant to join our team for weekend events. This is a crucial physical role that involves preparing our beautiful Poughkeepsie venue for various wedding ceremonies and receptions, ensuring every detail is perfectly in place before guests arrive. You will be responsible for setting up and tearing down event spaces, requiring physical stamina, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude. Key Responsibilities
- Set up tables, chairs, linens, and other event furniture according to detailed floor plans.
- Arrange decorations, centerpieces, and floral arrangements as per event specifications.
- Assist with the placement of audiovisual equipment, lighting, and staging elements.
- Perform light manual labor, including lifting and moving furniture and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Ensure the venue is clean and presentable before and after events, including basic cleaning tasks.
- Work collaboratively with event coordinators and other staff members to ensure smooth event execution.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and operational procedures.
- Assist with event teardown and cleanup, including packing away decorations and equipment.
- Be available to work primarily on weekends, with occasional weekday hours as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) safely and consistently.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team environment.
- Proactive and able to anticipate needs during event setup.
- Basic understanding of event setup procedures or willingness to learn quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in event setup, hospitality, or a related physical labor role.
- Experience working in a fast-paced event environment.

- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
