Job Description

Are you passionate about machinery and eager to start a career in agricultural mechanics? Elders Rural Services in Burnie is looking for a motivated Farm Mechanic Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience, as we believe in nurturing talent and providing comprehensive training from the ground up. You will work alongside experienced technicians, learning to maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide range of farm machinery and equipment. We provide all the necessary tools to ensure you have everything you need to succeed and grow in this role. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior mechanics with routine maintenance and repairs of farm machinery and equipment.
  • Learn to perform basic diagnostic checks and troubleshooting under supervision.
  • Clean, organize, and maintain the workshop and tools.
  • Help with assembly and setup of new equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Undertake training and development opportunities provided.
  • Assist with inventory management of parts and supplies.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
