Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Part-Time Cashier to join our team at Cosmic Comics & Collectibles in Williamsburg. If you have a passion for pop culture, comics, games, and collectibles, and love interacting with people, this is the perfect role for you! You’ll be the friendly face our customers see, providing excellent service in a fun and relaxed environment. Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit, and gift card transactions, ensuring proper change and reconciliation.
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Assist customers with product inquiries, locating items, and making recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area and store front.
- Restock merchandise as needed and assist with inventory tasks.
- Learn about new product releases and popular items to better assist customers.
- Uphold company policies and procedures, including age verification for restricted products.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive store environment for both customers and colleagues.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a retail or customer service role.
- Proficiency in operating a point-of-sale (POS) system and handling cash.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- A genuine interest in comic books, manga, board games, or pop culture collectibles.
- Reliable and punctual with a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically in a comic book store, bookstore, or hobby shop.
- Knowledge of various comic book publishers, game systems, and collectible lines.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to create engaging displays or merchandising concepts.
