Job Description

Brookdale Senior Living is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Entry-Level Activities Coordinator to join our dedicated team in Tacoma, WA. This is a full-time, on-site position ideal for someone with no prior experience but a strong desire to learn and grow within the senior care sector. We are looking for individuals who are creative, energetic, and possess excellent interpersonal skills. As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a vital role in planning, organizing, and leading engaging activities and events that enhance the physical, mental, and social well-being of our residents. Full training will be provided to ensure your success in this rewarding role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a diverse activities program for residents, tailored to their interests and abilities.
  • Lead group and individual activities, ensuring resident participation and enjoyment.
  • Encourage residents to participate in a variety of recreational, social, and educational programs.
  • Document resident attendance and participation, noting any observations or changes in behavior.
  • Assist residents with transportation to and from activities within the community.
  • Maintain activity supplies and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to create a holistic and supportive living environment.
  • Provide a welcoming and engaging presence for residents and their families.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and infection control protocols.

Required Skills

  • No prior experience required – full training provided!
  • Genuine empathy and passion for working with seniors.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous volunteer experience with seniors or in a care setting.
  • Basic knowledge of recreational activities or group facilitation.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
