Job Description
We are seeking a highly talented and innovative AI Research Scientist to join our dynamic team in Glasgow. This role is crucial for driving advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning across various Sky platforms and products. You will be responsible for conducting fundamental and applied research, developing novel algorithms, and prototyping solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible in media and entertainment. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cutting-edge research in AI/ML, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and related fields.
- Design, develop, and implement novel AI algorithms and models to solve complex challenges in areas such as content recommendation, personalization, audience analytics, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate research prototypes into production systems and scale solutions.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI research and apply relevant findings to our product development.
- Prepare and present research findings, both internally and externally, through reports, presentations, and potentially publications.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of AI research initiatives within the company.
- Mentor junior scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in AI/ML research and development.
- Strong proficiency in Python and relevant ML/DL frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Expertise in one or more areas: deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, computer vision, recommendation systems.
- Solid understanding of statistical modeling, data analysis, and experimental design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to tackle open-ended research questions.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
- Track record of impactful publications in top-tier AI/ML conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, CVPR, ACL) or journals.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and MLOps practices.
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Prior experience in the media, telecommunications, or entertainment industry.
