Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Aid Program Coordinator to join our Federal Global Outreach team in Port Lincoln, South Australia. This role is crucial for the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of our international aid initiatives, particularly those with a federal mandate. The Coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders, including government departments, international partners, and local communities, to ensure programs align with strategic objectives and deliver impactful results. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant global development efforts from a local base.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the full lifecycle of aid programs, from planning and design to implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Liaise with federal government agencies, international organizations, and partner country representatives to align program activities with strategic goals.
- Prepare comprehensive program documentation, including proposals, reports, budgets, and operational plans.
- Monitor program progress against established benchmarks, identifying and addressing potential challenges or deviations.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders, ensuring clear lines of responsibility and reporting.
- Manage program budgets and resources effectively, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for program activities.
- Represent the agency at meetings, workshops, and conferences as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of program coordination processes and tools.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Public Administration, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in program coordination or project management, preferably within the aid or non-profit sector
- Demonstrated understanding of international development principles and practices
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing and stakeholder engagement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline
- Experience working with federal government programs or international development agencies
- Familiarity with program monitoring and evaluation frameworks (e.g., Logframe)
- Knowledge of Australian aid policies and priorities
- Fluency in a second language relevant to international aid operations
