Job Description
PwC is seeking an enthusiastic and intellectually curious Economics Intern to join our Antitrust & Competition Policy team in Wakefield. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in applying economic principles to real-world competition issues. You will support senior economists and consultants on a variety of projects, contributing to analyses for mergers, antitrust investigations, and market studies. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates passionate about economics, policy, and competition law, providing comprehensive training and mentorship to develop your skills in a leading professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct economic research and data analysis to support ongoing projects.
- Assist in drafting reports, presentations, and other client deliverables.
- Help prepare economic models and quantitative analyses under supervision.
- Stay updated on developments in competition policy and economic theory.
- Collaborate effectively with team members on various tasks and projects.
- Support project management tasks and administrative duties as needed.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Econometrics, or a related field.
- Strong academic record with a solid understanding of microeconomics and industrial organisation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to communicate complex economic concepts clearly, both written and verbal.
- High level of initiative, attention to detail, and a keen desire to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with statistical software packages (e.g., Stata, R, Python).
- Previous coursework or projects related to competition economics or policy.
- Fluency in additional languages.
