Job Description
The AO4 Project Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the successful planning, execution, and closure of various projects within the Department of Communities. This position involves coordinating resources, managing timelines, facilitating communication between diverse stakeholders, and ensuring projects align with departmental objectives and community needs. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to initiatives that enhance community welfare and deliver tangible positive outcomes for Territorians, operating within a dynamic and supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Coordinate project activities, resources, equipment, and information effectively to maintain project flow.
- Liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and community groups to foster collaborative relationships.
- Track project progress, identify potential issues, and proactively facilitate problem-solving to mitigate risks.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project reports, briefs, and documentation for various audiences.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project records and documentation, adhering to departmental standards.
- Support stakeholder engagement and communication strategies to ensure transparency and involvement.
- Ensure strict compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and relevant legislative requirements.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in project support or coordination, preferably within a government context.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira).
- Strong organizational skills with an exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including report writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
- Sound understanding of government processes and the community services sector.
- High level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Experience working within a government or community-focused organization in the Northern Territory.
- Knowledge of Northern Territory community issues, demographics, and cultural sensitivities.
