Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our team as an APS5 Project Role. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant projects within a national agency, supporting various initiatives from inception to completion. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating project activities, managing stakeholders, and ensuring project documentation is meticulously maintained. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of assigned projects.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including schedules, reports, and risk registers.
- Monitor project progress against timelines and report on deviations.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and facilitate communication.
- Organise and minute project meetings, tracking action items to completion.
- Contribute to the development of project-related communications and presentations.
- Identify and escalate potential project risks or issues to senior project staff.
- Support project managers in budget tracking and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in project support or coordination roles.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to understand and apply government policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working within an Australian Government agency.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2).
