Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized APS5 Project Support Officer to join our dynamic team in Broome. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support to project managers and project teams.
  • Assist in the development, monitoring, and reporting of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, and events, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and tracking action items.
  • Manage project documentation, ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to departmental guidelines.
  • Facilitate communication and information flow between project stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Assist with procurement processes and contract management activities as required.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, briefs, and presentations for various audiences.
  • Undertake research and data analysis to support project decision-making.
  • Support the onboarding of new project team members and assist with general office administration.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to project support processes and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in providing administrative or project support in a complex environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A certificate or diploma in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working within a government agency or the Australian Public Service.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with records management systems.
