Job Description
Are you passionate about helping your community? St. Vincent de Paul Society WA is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as ATO Tax Help Assistants for the upcoming tax season. This seasonal, temporary role involves providing free and confidential assistance to eligible low-income earners to complete their basic tax returns using ATO’s myTax system. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for those looking to gain valuable experience in community service and administration, with a direct impact on the financial wellbeing of individuals and families in Perth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist eligible community members with basic tax return preparation using the ATO's myTax online system.
- Explain basic tax concepts and requirements in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of information entered into myTax, adhering to ATO guidelines and confidentiality protocols.
- Maintain a respectful, empathetic, and professional demeanour with all clients.
- Adhere to all St. Vincent de Paul Society WA policies and procedures, including those related to privacy and data security.
- Participate in mandatory training sessions provided by the ATO and St. Vincent de Paul Society WA.

- Basic computer literacy, including confidence in navigating online systems.
