Job Description
Join our R&D team as an Autonomous Vehicle LiDAR & Vision Intern in Inverness. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art LiDAR and camera systems, contributing to the development of perception algorithms for autonomous vehicles. You will assist engineers with sensor calibration, data collection, software development, and testing, learning critical skills in a dynamic, high-tech environment. This role is perfect for a highly motivated student eager to contribute to the future of autonomous driving.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the calibration, testing, and maintenance of LiDAR and camera sensors.
- Support the collection and labeling of sensor data for machine learning model training.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of perception algorithms using Python or C++.
- Perform data analysis and generate reports on sensor performance and system behavior.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various research and development projects.
- Participate in vehicle testing and validation activities, ensuring robust system integration.
- Learn about industry best practices in autonomous driving sensor integration and perception.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Basic programming proficiency in Python or C++.
- Fundamental understanding of linear algebra and probability.
- Strong interest in autonomous vehicles, robotics, computer vision, or sensor technology.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen desire to learn and grow.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Robot Operating System (ROS).
- Basic knowledge of computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV) or machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Prior coursework or personal projects related to LiDAR, cameras, or sensor fusion.
- Experience with Linux operating systems.
