Job Description
Join BlackBerry QNX as an Autonomous Vehicle LiDAR & Vision Intern and immerse yourself in the cutting-edge world of self-driving technology. This internship provides an unparalleled opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on the development and refinement of perception systems crucial for autonomous vehicles. You will gain hands-on experience with LiDAR and vision data processing, sensor fusion, and algorithmic development. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of algorithms for processing LiDAR and camera data.
- Contribute to the evaluation and testing of perception system performance in various scenarios.
- Support the integration of LiDAR and vision modules into the overall autonomous vehicle software stack.
- Participate in data collection, annotation, and management activities.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot and debug perception system issues.
- Research and present on emerging technologies and methodologies in LiDAR and computer vision.
- Document code, algorithms, and experimental results clearly and concisely.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of linear algebra, calculus, and probability.
- Proficiency in Python and/or C++ programming.
- Basic knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen interest in autonomous systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System).
- Familiarity with OpenCV or other image processing libraries.
- Exposure to point cloud libraries (e.g., PCL).
- Understanding of machine learning concepts, especially in computer vision.
- Previous coursework or projects related to robotics, computer vision, or sensor fusion.
