Job Description
We are seeking a highly reliable and meticulous Aviation Parts Courier to join our dedicated team in Wolverhampton. This critical role involves the safe and timely collection and delivery of essential aviation components to our clients, ensuring the smooth operation of aircraft maintenance and repair schedules. You will be responsible for navigating routes efficiently, maintaining detailed records, and upholding the highest standards of security and professionalism. This is a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and a clean driving record are paramount. Full training on aviation specific handling procedures will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform timely and secure collection and delivery of aviation parts to designated locations.
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all deliveries and collections, including proof of delivery documentation.
- Ensure all packages are handled with care, correctly manifested, and secured during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and colleagues regarding delivery status and potential issues.
- Adhere to strict security protocols for high-value and sensitive aviation components.
- Represent DHL Express professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Driving Licence (Category B or higher).
- Clean driving record with no major endorsements for the past 5 years.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 25kg.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or late evenings if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in courier, logistics, or delivery roles.
- Familiarity with the Wolverhampton and wider West Midlands area.
- Basic knowledge of aviation parts or the aerospace industry.
- Experience with handheld delivery devices and logistics software.
