Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Linguistics & Language Documentation Intern to join our research team. This is a unique entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about language, culture, and data preservation. As an intern, you will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, working alongside experienced researchers to support projects focused on the documentation, analysis, and preservation of linguistic diversity. This role is perfect for someone looking to gain practical experience in linguistic fieldwork, data management, and research methodologies within an academic setting. No prior professional experience is required; we are looking for individuals with a strong academic foundation and a keen desire to learn and contribute.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the collection and transcription of linguistic data from various sources.
- Contribute to the organization and management of language documentation archives.
- Support researchers in data entry, verification, and basic analysis.
- Learn and apply best practices in ethical data collection and language preservation.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on research progress.
- Help prepare materials for presentations, reports, and academic publications.
- Undertake assigned research tasks under the guidance of senior staff.
Required Skills

- Familiarity with phonetic transcription (e.g., IPA) is a plus but not required.
