Job Description
Are you a night owl looking for stable work in a dynamic environment? Loblaws is seeking a dedicated Bakehouse Flour Sweeper to join our night shift team at our Barrie location. In this essential role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our bakery production area, ensuring a safe and pristine workspace for our bakers. This entry-level position requires no prior experience, as comprehensive training will be provided. Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly sweep and mop all bakery production floors, ensuring the removal of flour, debris, and spills.
- Clean and sanitize bakery equipment, work surfaces, and utensils according to established food safety standards.
- Empty trash receptacles and manage waste disposal appropriately.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness in common areas, including washrooms and break rooms.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and procedures.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Assist with other general cleaning duties as required to support bakery operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work consistent night shifts.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning or general labor role (not required, but a plus).
- Familiarity with food safety principles (e.g., HACCP, GMP) a benefit.
