Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Part-time Barista to join our vibrant team at The Coffee Club in Belconnen. This role is perfect for someone who loves the early morning buzz, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about crafting excellent coffee. You’ll be a key player in ensuring our customers start their day right, providing exceptional service with a friendly smile. Due to the nature of our business, early morning availability and weekend shifts are essential, with attractive penalty rates applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks to high standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, handling transactions via POS system.
- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service, building rapport with regulars.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station and café area.
- Assist with food preparation and serving when required.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Manage opening and closing duties for the coffee station.
- Monitor and replenish coffee beans, milk, and other supplies.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a barista or customer service role, preferably in a cafe setting.
- Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso machine operation.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for early morning shifts.
- Ability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
- Basic numeracy for handling transactions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal barista training or certification.
- Experience with various latte art techniques.
- Knowledge of different coffee bean varieties and brewing methods.
- Current Food Safety Certificate.
