Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate BI Developer to join our data and analytics team in Derby. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights, designing and developing robust business intelligence solutions, and contributing to our data-driven decision-making processes. You will work closely with various business units to understand their analytical needs and translate them into effective BI tools and reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data models and data warehouses.
- Create interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using leading BI tools to present complex data in an understandable format.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver data solutions that meet business needs.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure data integrity and quality.
- Optimize existing BI solutions for performance and scalability.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on BI tools and reports.
- Stay updated with new BI technologies and best practices to continually improve our data capabilities.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Strong experience with a leading BI tool such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
- Demonstrated experience in data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.
- Ability to design and develop clear, concise, and impactful data visualizations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, capable of translating technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R for data analysis.
- Understanding of aerospace or manufacturing industry data.
- Experience with advanced analytics, machine learning, or predictive modeling concepts.
