Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Brewmaster / Head Brewer to lead our brewing operations. This pivotal role will be responsible for the entire brewing process, from recipe development and raw material sourcing to production, quality control, and packaging. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of brewing science, a proven track record in managing a commercial brewery, and a passion for crafting exceptional beers. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of brewing operations, including wort production, fermentation, conditioning, and filtration.
  • Develop and refine new and existing beer recipes, ensuring innovation and consistent quality.
  • Manage and mentor a team of brewers and cellar staff, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and maintain stringent quality control and assurance procedures throughout the brewing process.
  • Manage raw material procurement, inventory, and supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of brewing equipment.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams on product launches and brand development.
  • Manage brewing production schedules to meet demand and operational efficiency targets.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial brewing experience in a leadership role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of brewing science, yeast management, and fermentation.
  • Proven experience in recipe development and scaling.
  • Strong understanding of quality control and assurance protocols.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain brewing equipment.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a brewery setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Brewing Science, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Formal brewing qualification (e.g., IBD Diploma, Siebel Institute Concise Course).
  • Experience with packaging operations (canning, bottling, kegging).
  • Familiarity with brewery management software systems.
  • Track record of successful new product development and market launches.
