Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse to join our dynamic team in Stamford, CT. This crucial role involves providing expert nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. The ideal candidate will be adept at monitoring patient vital signs, assisting physicians during procedures, administering medications, and providing pre- and post-procedure patient education and support. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Monitor and assess patient's physiological and hemodynamic status throughout all phases of the procedure.
- Administer medications safely and accurately as prescribed by the physician.
- Assist cardiologists with the setup and performance of various cardiac interventions.
- Educate patients and their families about procedures, recovery, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain a sterile environment and ensure all equipment is functioning correctly.
- Document all aspects of patient care, observations, and interventions accurately and timely.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs.
Required Skills
- Current Connecticut RN license in good standing.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or a cardiac catheterization lab setting.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Certification in Cardiovascular Nursing (e.g., CCRN, RCIS).
- Experience with various interventional cardiology procedures (e.g., PCI, TAVR, Watchman).
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly Epic.
