Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our corporate services team in Fremantle. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality food service. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our corporate catering facilities, providing outstanding service to our clients. This position offers stable day-time hours, with no late nights, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and simple assembly.
- Set up and clear down dining areas, meeting rooms, and event spaces.
- Serve food and beverages to corporate clients and guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Restock supplies, including cutlery, crockery, and condiments.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as required.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and food handling regulations.
- Support the catering team with any ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices (training provided).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or customer service role.
- Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Knowledge of various dietary requirements and allergens.
