Job Description
Are you a compassionate animal lover looking for a flexible and rewarding role working with cats? Bristol Purrfect Paws Cattery is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cattery Hands to join our friendly team on a casual basis. This is an entry-level position where no previous experience is required – full training will be provided to the right candidates. You’ll be responsible for the daily care and well-being of our feline residents, ensuring they are happy, healthy, and comfortable. Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily feeding and fresh water for all cats according to their individual dietary needs
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect cattery pens, litter trays, and common areas to maintain high hygiene standards
- Monitor cats for any signs of illness, injury, or changes in behaviour and report concerns to management
- Administer basic medication as instructed (training provided)
- Engage with cats through play, petting, and gentle interaction to ensure their comfort and social well-being
- Assist with basic grooming tasks as needed
- Maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, and general observations
- Ensure the cattery environment is safe, stimulating, and stress-free
- Assist with laundry and general upkeep of the facility
Required Skills
- Genuine love and respect for animals, especially cats
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently
- Excellent attention to detail regarding cleanliness and animal welfare
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Physical ability to perform cleaning duties and handle cats safely
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience caring for personal pets
- Basic knowledge of cat behaviour and welfare
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- A willingness to learn and grow within the animal care industry
