Job Description
Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? The Community Connection UK is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Down Syndrome Community Support Intern to join our Basildon team. This entry-level internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community support, learning directly from experienced professionals. You will play a crucial role in assisting with programs and activities designed to enrich the lives of individuals with Down Syndrome and their families, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. Full training will be provided to ensure you have the skills and confidence to excel in this rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination and delivery of community events and workshops for individuals with Down Syndrome.
- Support staff in engaging with service users and their families, understanding their needs and providing basic information.
- Help prepare and distribute communication materials, such as newsletters and activity schedules.
- Participate in outreach efforts to raise awareness and build stronger community connections.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and activity participation.
- Provide administrative support as needed to ensure smooth program operations.
- Contribute to creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
- Learn and adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures.
