Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and empathetic Chiropody Assistant to join our healthcare team in Winchester. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for an individual passionate about healthcare and patient support, with full training provided. As a Chiropody Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our qualified Podiatrists and Chiropodists, ensuring the smooth operation of clinics and providing a comfortable, safe environment for our patients. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency of our services and the well-being of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment before and after patient consultations, ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Sterilise instruments in accordance with established protocols and maintain accurate records of sterilisation cycles.
  • Assist Podiatrists/Chiropodists during treatments by providing necessary instruments, materials, and patient support.
  • Provide direct patient care under supervision, including preparing feet for treatment, applying dressings, and offering aftercare advice.
  • Manage patient appointments, maintain accurate patient records, and handle administrative tasks as required.
  • Order and maintain stock levels of clinical supplies, ensuring availability for treatments.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout their visit, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and clinical governance standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or healthcare setting is beneficial but not essential.
  • A basic understanding of medical terminology or anatomy.
  • First Aid qualification.
