Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cloud Security Specialist to join our dynamic cybersecurity team in Chicago. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security postures across our cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud security principles, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud security architectures and solutions across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Monitor cloud security logs and alerts, performing incident response, analysis, and resolution for security events.
- Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management on cloud-based systems and applications.
- Develop, enforce, and review cloud security policies, standards, and best practices in alignment with industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security controls into the CI/CD pipeline and promote 'security by design' principles.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on cloud security matters to internal stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest cloud security trends, threats, and technologies, recommending proactive measures and improvements.
- Participate in compliance audits and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS) within cloud environments.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS EC2, S3, IAM; Azure VMs, Storage Accounts, AD; GCP Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM).
- Proficiency with cloud security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, DLP, CASB).
- Knowledge of network security protocols, data encryption, identity and access management (IAM) in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
- Ability to analyze complex security issues and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Eligibility to work in the United States for international applicants (IBM may offer sponsorship for qualified candidates).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, CCSP, CCSK).
- Experience with security automation and orchestration.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools.
- Previous experience in a large enterprise or consulting environment.
- Demonstrated experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, or PCI DSS.
