Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our dynamic team in Wilmington, DE. This critical role involves setting up, operating, and programming CNC machines to produce high-precision components according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, G-code programming, and interpreting complex blueprints. We value precision, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality. Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling, turning, and grinding machines.
- Develop and edit CNC programs using CAD/CAM software and G/M codes to optimize machining processes.
- Interpret complex engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure quality and adherence to tolerances.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operation, tooling, and programming.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and product design.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and preventative checks.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in setting up and operating various CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders).
- Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code programming.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM).
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
- Expertise in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM).
- Solid understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree or vocational certification in Machining Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience with 5-axis machining or advanced CNC programming techniques.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to train and mentor junior machinists.
- Experience in a high-volume precision manufacturing environment.
