Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Coffee Roastery Production Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves the aroma of fresh coffee, enjoys early mornings, and is eager to learn the intricate process of coffee roasting and production. You’ll be a key part of ensuring our beans are perfectly prepared, packaged, and ready for our customers. No prior roastery experience is required; we provide comprehensive training for the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic and a passion for coffee.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the loading and unloading of green coffee beans.
  • Support the Head Roaster during roasting operations, including monitoring roast profiles.
  • Operate packaging equipment to bag roasted coffee accurately.
  • Prepare and label coffee bags for distribution and retail.
  • Maintain a clean and organized roastery environment, including equipment sanitation.
  • Assist with inventory management of green beans, roasted coffee, and packaging supplies.
  • Perform quality control checks on roasted beans and packaged products.
  • Adhere to all food safety and workplace safety regulations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Reliability and punctuality, especially for early morning shifts.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a passion for coffee.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and counting.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a production, warehouse, or food service environment.
  • Familiarity with coffee types and roasting processes (beneficial but not required).
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
