Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and vigilant Court Bailiffs / Security Officers to join our team in Parramatta. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining order and security within court premises, ensuring the safety of judges, legal personnel, visitors, and defendants. You will play a vital role in upholding the integrity of the judicial process by enforcing court rules, conducting security screenings, and responding effectively to incidents. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and reassuring security presence within courtrooms and premises.
• Monitor access points and conduct security screenings of individuals entering court facilities.
• Enforce court rules and procedures, ensuring decorum and order during proceedings.
• Provide escort services for judges, juries, defendants, and other personnel as required.
• Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, and disturbances.
• Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of daily activities.
• Operate and monitor security equipment such as CCTV and access control systems.
• Liaise with law enforcement agencies and court staff to ensure seamless security operations.
• Administer basic first aid if required in an emergency situation, and assist in crisis management.

Required Skills

• Current Class 1A Security Licence (NSW)
• Demonstrated experience in security or a related field (minimum 2 years)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities.
• Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills, especially in high-stakes situations.
• Physical fitness to stand, walk, and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and reliable transport.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate II or III in Security Operations or equivalent industry qualifications.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Previous experience in a court, government, or public sector security environment.
• Knowledge of the NSW justice system and court procedures.
• Experience with electronic security systems and technologies.
