Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Cyber Security Engineer to join our growing team in Chesterfield. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding our infrastructure, data, and applications from evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and contributing to the development of robust security policies and procedures. This is an on-site position vital to our operational security in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security systems and tools.
- Monitor security access and conduct regular security audits.
- Respond to security incidents, investigate breaches, and provide post-incident analysis.
- Perform vulnerability testing and risk assessments.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into all projects.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
- Provide security awareness training to staff.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cyber security roles.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security architectures.
- Proficiency with security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection).
- Experience with vulnerability management and penetration testing.
- Knowledge of industry security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM).
- Experience with cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
- Experience in a regulated industry.
