Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Virtual Proofreader to join our remote team, specializing in self-published books. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with exceptional attention to detail and a strong command of the English language, even without prior professional proofreading experience. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and readability of a wide array of self-published titles across various genres, contributing directly to the success of independent authors. Full training will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills and understanding of our style guides and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly review self-published manuscripts for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, punctuation inaccuracies, and formatting inconsistencies.
- Identify and correct typos and other linguistic errors to ensure high-quality, professional content.
- Adhere strictly to established style guides and quality assurance protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with the content quality team to maintain consistent standards.
- Manage multiple proofreading projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines efficiently.
- Provide constructive and clear feedback on potential areas for improvement beyond basic proofreading, as per guidelines.
