Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dynamic security team in Niagara Falls, NY. This role is critical in protecting M&T Bank’s information systems and data from evolving cyber threats. The successful candidate will be instrumental in monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity incidents. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events from various security tools (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, etc.) to identify potential threats.
- Perform initial analysis and triage of security incidents, determining scope, urgency, and potential impact.
- Participate in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in penetration testing efforts to identify weaknesses in systems and applications.
- Maintain and update security documentation, including incident response playbooks and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Assist in security awareness training for employees.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and security concepts.
- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
- Knowledge of common attack vectors and defense strategies.
- Familiarity with incident response methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, GIAC certifications).
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, NIST, ISO 27001).
- Scripting experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and analysis.
