Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Dairy Farm Milking Assistant for early morning rural work. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to learn the ropes of dairy farming and contribute to the vital process of milk production. You will be an integral part of our farm operations, primarily focusing on the milking routine and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our herd. Full training will be provided to the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic and a passion for working with animals in a rural setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily milking routines, including preparing cows for milking and attaching/detaching milking clusters.
  • Monitor cow health and behavior during milking, reporting any concerns to the farm manager.
  • Clean and maintain the milking parlor and equipment to high hygiene standards.
  • Ensure the welfare and comfort of the dairy herd.
  • Assist with moving cows to and from the parlor.
  • Perform general farm duties as required, including bedding down and feeding.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and animal welfare protocols.
