Job Description

Are you passionate about the journey from grape to glass? Clydach Valley Vineyards is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Viticulture & Wine Production Intern to join our dedicated team. This entry-level internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain comprehensive, hands-on experience across all aspects of vineyard management and wine production. No prior experience is required; we are looking for individuals eager to learn, work hard, and contribute to the growth of our Welsh wines. You will be fully trained and mentored by our experienced viticulturists and winemakers, participating in seasonal vineyard tasks, cellar operations, and everything in between.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with seasonal vineyard tasks including pruning, canopy management, trellising, and harvesting.
  • Monitoring vine health, pest, and disease control under supervision.
  • Supporting cellar operations such as crushing, pressing, fermentation management, racking, and blending.
  • Assisting with bottling, labelling, and packaging of finished wines.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the vineyard, cellar, and equipment.
  • Participating in data collection for vineyard and wine analysis.
  • Contributing to general upkeep and maintenance of the winery grounds.

Required Skills

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • A genuine interest in viticulture, winemaking, and agricultural practices.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree/diploma in Viticulture, Oenology, Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field (not mandatory).
  • Basic understanding of health and safety protocols.
  • Full UK driving licence.
