Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Day Shift Gardener for casual work at our Corio, Geelong store. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and have a passion for maintaining beautiful green spaces. As a casual Gardener, you will play a key role in ensuring our external grounds and nursery areas are well-maintained, vibrant, and welcoming for our customers. We are looking for someone reliable, physically fit, and eager to contribute to the visual appeal of our store. While some basic gardening familiarity is beneficial, we are happy to provide on-the-job training for enthusiastic candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic and a desire to learn. This is a casual position offering flexible day shift hours, perfect for those seeking work-life balance or supplementing existing commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Watering plants, shrubs, and trees to ensure optimal health.
- Weeding garden beds and maintaining clean, tidy outdoor areas.
- Planting new flora as required, following store guidelines.
- Pruning and trimming plants to promote growth and maintain aesthetics.
- Operating basic gardening tools and equipment safely.
- Assisting with general grounds maintenance and tidiness around the store perimeter.
- Reporting any plant health issues or equipment faults to management.
Required Skills
- A genuine interest in gardening and outdoor work.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a gardening or landscaping role (even amateur).
