Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart your career in publishing and design? Matalan Group is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Desktop Publisher Trainee to join our creative team in Liverpool. This entry-level role is perfect for someone with little to no prior experience, offering comprehensive training and development in all aspects of desktop publishing. You will learn to prepare and format various digital and print materials, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality output. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation and formatting of various documents, including brochures, flyers, advertisements, and internal communications.
- Learn to use desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) under guidance.
- Ensure all materials adhere to brand guidelines and design specifications.
- Review and proofread layouts for accuracy, consistency, and visual appeal.
- Support the creative team with administrative tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with designers, copywriters, and marketing specialists.
- Prepare files for print or digital distribution.
Required Skills
- Strong interest in graphic design, publishing, or visual communication.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.

Preferred Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Art/Design.
