Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centered support to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to make choices and achieve their personal goals.
  • Assist with daily living activities including personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks, as required.
  • Support individuals to access and participate in community activities, appointments, and social outings.
  • Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, their families, and other support networks.
  • Adhere to individual support plans, documenting progress and reporting any changes or concerns.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all clients.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development, participating in all mandatory training.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • A valid Australian Driver's License and reliable transport.
  • Ability to obtain a satisfactory National Police Check and Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Previous experience, volunteer or paid, in a caregiving or support role (not mandatory but beneficial).
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or a related field (not required, full training provided).
