Job Description
Are you eager to kickstart a career in the trades but lack specific experience? Tasmanian Plumbing Solutions is offering an incredible opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Trades Assistant to join our growing plumbing team in Glenorchy. This is a hands-on role where you will learn directly on site from experienced plumbers, gaining valuable skills and knowledge every day. No prior plumbing experience is required – just a willingness to learn and a positive attitude!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed plumbers with various plumbing tasks on residential and commercial sites.
- Prepare work sites, including setting up equipment, tools, and materials.
- Transport tools and materials to and from work areas.
- Perform general labour duties such as digging, trenching, and site clean-up.
- Learn to identify and use various plumbing tools and equipment safely.
- Help with the installation and repair of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing components.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
Required Skills
- Willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction Induction Card (White Card) – if you don't have one, we can help you obtain it.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Previous experience in a manual labour role (not necessarily plumbing).
