Job Description
Are you looking for a new challenge and a chance to kickstart your career? Tesco is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our busy Distribution Centre team in Dumfries as Order Pickers. No prior experience is required as full, comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you become proficient in all aspects of the role. You will be responsible for accurately picking and packing customer orders, ensuring they are ready for dispatch. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack products according to order sheets or scanner instructions.
- Safely operate manual handling equipment, such as pallet trucks, after receiving full training.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Work efficiently as part of a team to meet daily targets.
- Perform quality checks on picked items to ensure accuracy and prevent damage.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to learn new tasks and processes quickly.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items throughout a shift.
- A reliable and punctual approach to work.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus, but not essential.
- Experience using handheld scanners or warehouse management systems.
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
