Job Description
We are urgently seeking enthusiastic and reliable Dockhands to join our bustling logistics operations in Townsville. This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in the logistics industry. No prior experience is necessary as full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this dynamic role. You will play a crucial part in the efficient movement of goods, contributing directly to our operational success and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading freight from trucks and containers safely and efficiently.
- Sorting and staging goods for distribution or storage.
- Operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (training provided for suitable candidates).
- Adhering to all workplace health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Assisting with inventory checks and stock rotation as required.
- Working collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational targets.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and completing documentation.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current forklift license (LF or LO) highly regarded, but not essential.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus.
- Understanding of basic WHS (Work Health and Safety) principles.
