Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Asbestos Removal Labourer (Trainee) to join our team in Port Macquarie. This is an entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about starting a career in environmental remediation. No prior experience in asbestos removal is required; full comprehensive training, including all necessary certifications and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training, will be provided. You will work under the direct supervision of experienced supervisors and certified asbestos removalists, learning the ropes of safe and compliant asbestos abatement practices. This role is physically demanding and requires a strong commitment to following strict safety protocols to ensure the well-being of yourself, your team, and the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist certified asbestos removalists with the safe removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs)
- Set up and maintain containment areas according to strict safety guidelines and regulations
- Perform decontamination procedures for equipment, work areas, and personnel
- Operate and maintain specialised equipment used in asbestos removal, under supervision
- Clean work sites thoroughly after asbestos removal operations
- Handle and package hazardous waste materials for transport and disposal
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and work procedures
- Participate actively in all provided training sessions and safety briefings
- Wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) diligently
