Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Dog Daycare Supervisor to join our vibrant team on a casual basis. This role is perfect for someone who loves dogs, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is looking for flexible hours. As a Casual Daycare Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our daycare, ensuring the safety and well-being of all dogs, and providing exceptional customer service to our pet parents. You will be responsible for managing dog playgroups, maintaining a clean facility, and supporting a positive team atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise large and small dog playgroups, ensuring appropriate behavior and preventing conflicts.
- Monitor dogs for signs of stress, illness, or injury, and administer basic first aid if necessary.
- Engage with dogs through play, positive reinforcement, and enrichment activities.
- Manage client check-ins and check-outs, providing updates on their dog's day.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the daycare facility, including play areas, kennels, and common spaces.
- Assist with feeding and medication administration as required.
- Train and mentor junior staff members, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor concerns professionally and courteously.
- Ensure all safety protocols and company policies are strictly adhered to.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in dog handling, preferably in a daycare, kennel, or veterinary setting.
- Strong understanding of canine body language and behavior.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic computer proficiency for administrative tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 20kg and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate II or III in Animal Studies or equivalent.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Current Pet First Aid and CPR certification.
