Job Description

Downer Group is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Electrical Cadets to join our dynamic team in Toowoomba. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, learn from industry experts, and contribute to significant commercial and solar projects across the region. You will work alongside qualified electricians, assisting with installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, while building a foundational understanding of electrical principles and safety standards. This role is designed for individuals with little to no prior experience, providing comprehensive training and mentorship to kickstart your career.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified electricians with commercial wiring installations and maintenance tasks.
- Support the setup and installation of solar panel systems and associated electrical components.
- Learn to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications under supervision.
- Perform basic electrical tasks, including pulling cables, conduit installation, and fixture mounting, as directed.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Participate actively in all provided training sessions and on-the-job learning opportunities.
- Help with material preparation, tool management, and site clean-up.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress and issues.

- A demonstrated interest in renewable energy technologies and sustainable practices.
