Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Endocrinologist to join our dynamic team in Mansfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of endocrine disorders, providing expert care to both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, contribute to service development, and engage in continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat complex endocrine disorders including diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, and metabolic bone diseases.
- Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, physical examinations, and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and referrals to other specialists as appropriate.
- Provide expert advice and consultation to general practitioners and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in regular multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to clinical governance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and keep abreast of the latest advancements in endocrinology.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions and treatment options.
Required Skills
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a Licence to Practise.
- CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus, or equivalent specialist registration.
- Demonstrable experience in managing a broad spectrum of endocrine conditions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., Royal College of Physicians).
- Experience in a sub-specialty area of endocrinology (e.g., reproductive endocrinology, neuroendocrinology).
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit, research, or service improvement projects.
- Teaching or mentoring experience.
