Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English / ESL Teacher to join our team in Corner Brook. This is a full-time position focused on providing high-quality English language instruction to our diverse student population, including international students and newcomers to Canada. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, helping them achieve academic and professional success. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective English language lessons to students of various proficiency levels.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with curriculum objectives.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and grades.
  • Participate in curriculum development, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Provide academic support and guidance to students as needed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach English as a Second Language effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms.
  • Ability to obtain LMIA/CoS (if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience teaching ESL/EFL at a post-secondary institution.
  • Experience with various English language proficiency tests (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL).
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB).
